Blacks are one of my favourite colours, not only are they very useful for crossing with other colours to improve, they
are a striking addition to any garden as the sheen catches the light. I am lucky to have a R. O'Rourke hen and a G Hodge boy amongst others in my black pen, nothing is assured as black is one of the most difficult colours to breed to show standard what with the quality of breeders in the UK.
This year 2011 one of my own bred black hens ( bottom picture )got 1st in her class at the PCGB National show. More pics to follow.
